“New ways of working, new systems, new equipment – all empower customer-facing teams to make their work lighter & easier”

Miguel V Faura

CEO & CO-FOUNDER, BONITASOFT

“Beyond these game-changing technologies, banks will also seek to collaborate with platform providers who offer cloud-native capabilities along with a modular architecture with composable applications that allow them to change and innovate at a faster pace rapidly“

As we continue to see the ripples of change in the way we work resulting from the ongoing pandemic, the newly emerging “hybrid workplace” combines remote and on-site work. It is now possible to envisage a hybrid employee-customer journey that integrates remote and on-site operations through business processes.

Employees working from remote locations require the same kind of smooth, painless, supported experiences that innovative business organizations aim to achieve with their customers. The employee experience, well-integrated and fully intertwined with that of external users, via intelligent business applications built on digital process automation platforms, is one way to see working life change for the better for both employees involved in critical end-to-end processes and the customers they ultimately support.

The drivers & disruptors for the technology innovations

New ways of working, new systems, new equipment – all empower customer-facing teams to make their work lighter and easier. Intelligent tools like RPA robots and chatbots at their fingertips can give employees a whole new productivity boost across several tasks in their end-to-end processes. Automated business processes based on traditional ways of doing things are like well-equipped buggies pulled by the fastest horses available. Meanwhile, fusion teams equipped with iBPMS, intelligent tools, and process data analytics are revving up their race car engines.

Aggressive adoption of advanced technologies for staying relevant and competitive

I think nearly everyone in business today is aware of the importance of data analytics for businesses to provide information useful for making solid business decisions and optimizing business operations. We’re in an era of widely applied process automation with many years of experience in tools such as business process management automation (BPM) platforms and rapidly deepening experience in robotic process automation (RPA).

Business data analytics and business process automation, taken together, forms the emerging process analytics, which looks into process data to see what we can learn from it and how we can act on that knowledge. There is already a widely used process visualization standard with BPMN2.0 (Business Process Modeling and Notation) in a mature market ready for process analytics.

I expect that we will see a rapid movement in ways to visualize process data that will ultimately help business leaders better understand what is going on with their processes and take appropriate action. We’ll begin to see new technologies emerging in this area, and as innovation often comes from open source development, that’s where we should be heading forward.
